This spot is perfect for smartphone photography. The modern interior, the Art Deco Turbine Halls and all the clean lines and symmetry make it a great place to experiment. We stuck to our phones this time because tripods are not allowed, and keeping things simple meant we could enjoy the space without any fuss from security.

Most of us focused on the huge chimneys, the striking architecture, reflections and the industrial textures you notice when you slow down and look closely. We decided to save Lift 109 for another day, but it is definitely on the list for a future visit.

It was a relaxed, social outing with plenty of time to chat, explore and enjoy taking photos together.
