Photography for Everyone – from Smartphones to Mirrorless
At the start of 2026 we opened a new chapter together. We’re proud of everything achieved as Photocraft Camera Club, but our new name, Wallington Photography Club, reflects where we’re heading. We’ve shaped our programme around what people enjoy most: getting out with our cameras, trying new ideas, and spending relaxed time with others who love photography.
We keep things simple. The camera you already have is the perfect place to begin. Whether you’re exploring a mirrorless camera for the first time, dusting off a familiar DSLR, or capturing everyday moments on your smartphone, you’ll find a friendly, supportive group ready to welcome you in.
Our focus is on learning by doing, sharing experiences, and enjoying photography together. Competitions still exist, but they sit alongside hands‑on sessions, creative challenges, and sociable evenings where everyone can join in at their own pace.
Hands-on learning.
Move beyond the theory with practical sessions, from lighting setups to creative editing. We learn by doing, sharing skills in a supportive environment.
Photowalks & Socials
Photography shouldn’t be solitary. Join our regular local outings and relaxed coffee mornings to find inspiration and friendship outside the meeting hall.
Expert Talks & Inspiration
Get inspired by guest speakers and professional photographers from across the UK, brought to you via our high-quality Zoom sessions and in-person events.
Join us as a guest
We’d love you to drop in and see if the club feels right for you. You can come along for up to three free visits, meet the group, and take part in whatever we have planned that week.
Our sessions change throughout the month. Sometimes we’re hands‑on with our cameras, other times we’re sharing ideas, learning from guest speakers, or simply catching up. Because we switch between St Patrick’s centre and Zoom, please get in touch with our Membership Secretary before your first visit. They’ll let you know what’s happening and how to join us.

A relaxed evening of prints with Graeme Wales
This week we were delighted to welcome back Graeme Wales, a Surrey Photographic Association judge who many of us know for his thoughtful, constructive feedback. It was his first time visiting our new home at St Patrick’s, and he immediately commented on how bright and…

Three Sets of Images, One Enjoyable Evening to Start the Year
We opened 2026 with our Monochrome Print and PDI evening, originally scheduled for October but moved after our judge was taken ill. It made for a busy start to the year. Even so, it was a pleasure to welcome Ian Brash back to the club and into our new home at St…

Photowalk at Battersea Power Station
During the summer break, a group of us headed into London for a relaxed photowalk around the iconic Battersea Power Station. We met outside the underground station in the early evening, then wandered off in our own directions to explore, coming back together at the end …

Summer Scavenger Hunt
Our summer scavenger hunt took us exploring around Carshalton, with a fun twist: every photo had to be taken and edited on a smartphone or tablet. Even though I could not join the group on the night, I heard it was a relaxed, friendly outing that finished with a well de…
